Evaluation methods

Welcome to the 3rd part of current course in which we will be focused on evaluation methods in youth work.

Recently we already learned a lot about concept of evaluation, its aims and objectives, evaluation models, actors, types and timing of evaluation, planning and preparing for evaluation.

In this more “practical” part of the Module we will discuss and learn some tools, methods and instruments that will support the development of your own educational evaluations and help with integrating educational evaluation into your projects.

Many different types and methods of evaluation are available depending on the information that needs to be assessed. Choosing the best types of evaluation depends on many factors, including type of the project, aims and the stage at which your project is. Each evaluation can help you make better decisions by giving you the right kind of data at the right time. That’s why the more methods you know, the better evaluation you can organize and conduct.

Although, as we all can agree, there are no “golden rules” or “golden tools” for the development of a perfect educational evaluation, knowledge of evaluation methods together with experience of implementing different methods can help you to organize evaluation the most effective way possible.

Module part “Evaluation methods” gives you some insights into creating evaluation methods and helps you explore some of the options you have when creating your program and project designs.

Be creative and courageous! And let’s continue our educational journey.
